Chris Romer took the lead in Denver’s mayoral election yesterday (5/3). He advances to the June run-off election to replace former Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper. It was a close race for the second and third place finishers in a crowded field.  Results early this morning showed Michael Hancock narrowly beat James Mejia for the second spot on the mayoral run-off.

Colorado Public Radio’s Anna Panoka, Megan Verlee, and Zachary Barr produced this report.
