‘Carmen’ Opens Central City Opera Season

Central City Opera opens its 79th season June 25th with Bizet's "Carmen" and a live broadcast on Colorado Public Radio's classical music stations.  The live radio broadcast is one of several things Central City Opera is doing this year for the first time.  The actors, costumes and music of "Carmen" are coming to a Denver-area stage later in the season.  The company is hosting the North American premier of Handel's "Amadigi di Gaula" and hoping to entice first-time opera goers with a series of one-act operas and a festival atmosphere around its historic opera house in Central City.  Colorado Public Radio's Mike Lamp talks with Valerie Hamlin.
