State Highway 67 Remains Closed Near Cripple Creek

State Highway 67 remains closed to all traffic just north of Cripple Creek. The sinkhole is on the northbound side of the highway, and efforts to open the southbound lane were delayed due to issues with the temporary traffic signal. The Colorado Department of Transportation expects a new signal tomorrow, and says the highway could open to one lane sometime before noon. Traffic is being detoured to Teller County Road 81 to Victor and back into Cripple Creek via Highway 67. CDOT estimates the detour adds about 10 to 15 minutes of travel time. The sinkhole is contained on the northbound side of the highway, with depths varying between 20 and 50 feet.
