Resident Preparedness Meeting: Post Waldo Canyon Fire Flood Risk

The City of Colorado Springs Office of Emergency Management will host a resident preparedness meeting on the post Waldo Canyon Fire flood risk Thursday, August 23.

Resident Preparedness Community Meeting
August 23, 2012
6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Stone Chapel at Woodmen Valley Chapel (290 E. Woodmen Rd.)

The meeting will provide education and updated information with regards to the Waldo Canyon Fire and current flood related issues. Speakers will spend the first part of the evening addressing key issues:

Greg Langer, NRCS (Natural Resources Conservation Service)
US Forest Service, BAER (Burned Area Emergency Response)

Ken Hughlett, Colorado Springs Office of Emergency Management
Sandbagging, weather radios, interactive online flooding map update

Following the presentations, representatives from the following agencies will be in attendance to offer one on one interaction and answer residents’ questions:
