A worker at the Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility in southeast Colorado remained hospitalized last night after sustaining injuries in an incident where another woman was killed. A press release from the Colorado Department of Corrections says the fatal incident occurred Monday during early morning breakfast preparations at the state facility in Crowley. Sergeant Lori Gann sustained serious injuries and remains hospitalized in Pueblo. The identity of the slain worker has not yet been released. The facility houses about 1,000 male prisoners. The incident remains under investigation, though officials said Monday at least one suspect has been identified.

At a rescheduled campaign stop in Pueblo yesterday, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney criticized president Obama's handling of the economy and the situation in the Middle East. KRCC's Shanna Lewis reports.
