The USA Pro Challenge cycling race brought nearly 100 million dollars in to the state. KRCC’s Eliza Densmore reports.

Race organizers released the results of a study yesterday, which was done by global sports research firm IFM North America. The company found direct spending by traveling spectators on amenities such as lodging, food, and entertainment was a large portion of the revenue.

People came from 25 different states to watch the race, including Colorado. 75.8 percent of them say they’re likely to return to watch next year, and 53 percent said they traveled to Colorado specifically for the race. Over one million people watched the race in person.
