Music for the Jewish High Holidays

· Sep. 6, 2013, 4:30 pm

With Yom Kippur later this week, CPR Classical brings you "Music for the High Holidays.”

Hosted by WQXR announcer Naomi Lewin, this one-hour special includes both traditional and composed music from Jewish liturgy (with a recording of Kol Nidre that features violinist Itzhak Perlman), as well as concert music based on High Holidays melodies. The program also explains a bit about the Jewish new year and its traditions.

Tune in to CPR Classical on Thursday at 7 p.m.
