A lightning strike killed a woman in Rocky Mountain National Park on Friday, park officials said.

Eight others were injured at the strike site near Trail Ridge Road between Rainbow Curve and Forest Canyon Overlook, said Kyle Patterson, public information officer for the park.

"Of the remaining seven, two were transported by ambulance and five transported themselves to the Estes Park Medical Center," Patterson says in a statement.
