Just over two years since their last visit, local band Anthony Ruptak & the Midnight Friends made a return to the CPR Performance Studio this winter.

Ruptak's new album "Between the Hangman & the Halo" is out Jan. 31 via a release party at Denver's Syntax Physic Opera.

In addition to playing a few songs from "Between the Hangman & the Halo," Ruptak and his band spoke with Aaron 'Loki' Johnson about the record's rock and roll sound, covering Elliott Smith and the forthcoming release show.
