Monday through Friday nights at 7, Charley Samson is your connection to the music, voices and happenings of Colorado's classical music community.

Here's what's on tap for the week of Feb. 2.

Monday

Rachmoninoff's famous "Vocalise" left a big impression on critics before it became a classic. We'll hear cellist Alisa Weilerstein play the piece in the CPR Performance Studio. She's the first featured performer in the Aspen Music Festival winter recital series, which you can hear live on CPR Classical on Thursday, Feb. 12.

Tuesday

We'll learn about the unaccompanied suites for cello written by J.S. Bach. Violinist Zachary Carrettin is playing his arrangements of the pieces in a concert this Friday, and we'll hear him play music in the CPR Performance Studio.

WEDNESDAY Through Friday

Colorado Spotlight will not air during CPR's pledge drive. The show will return next week.
