If you didn't make it to Boettcher Concert Hall for the second half of the Colorado Symphony's American Festival, you missed some memorable performances of uniquely American music.

It's not too late to hear the concert. CPR Classical broadcasts the music at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 28. The program:

  • "RiverRun" a symphonic piece that won a Pulitzer Prize for composer Stephen Albert
  • Violinist Anne Akiko Meyers playing Samuel Barber's Violin Concerto. (Check out our recent interview to hear why she loves the piece.)
  • A rousing take on George Gershwin's Cuban Overture.

Our next live broadcast with the Colorado Symphony is set for April 17. View our spring concert broadcast schedule.
