In Denver, 25 percent of business travelers use Uber over taxis, says study

"Corporate travelers” are turning more and more to the ride sharing service Uber over traditional taxi cab and limousine services, according to Certify, a provider of expense management software.

The study says Uber accounted for almost half of paid car rides on “company expense reports” in March nationwide. That’s a big jump from a year earlier.

In Denver, Uber accounted for only 12 percent of the Denver market in January 2014. But by the end of 2014, it captured 25 percent.

"Uber’s dramatic growth in Denver maps to the national trends in many ways, shooting from 12 percent in Q1 2014 to 21 percent in Q2 and capturing 25 percent of the market each quarter since then,” says Bob Neveu, CEO at Certify.

In some cities including Dallas and San Francisco, Uber even overtook taxi services.
