Colorado Springs mayoral candidates John Suthers and Mary Lou Makepeace before the start of a debate sponsored by KKTV and The Gazette on April 27, 2015.

The Gazette reports that 86,607 ballots were returned Monday, which is only 2,359 fewer ballots than in the full election. The runoff was triggered because no mayoral candidate got more than 50 percent of the vote last month.
