Colorado Ski Country USA reports skier visits fell about .5 percent compared to last season, but they still exceed the five-year average.

Snow totals were well below the 10-year average for the core ski season. Warmer than normal temperatures in October led to a slow start. But snowfall in December, February and May helped save the season.

"We’re thrilled with this year’s numbers," said Melanie Mills, president and CEO of Colorado Ski Country USA.

The association represents 21 ski areas in Colorado like Eldora, Steamboat Springs and Aspen Mountain. It doesn't cover Vail Resorts properties.
