Here’s Fei-Fei Dong, a 2013 Van Cliburn competition finalist and 2015 piano fellow at the Bravo! Vail music festival, performing Frédéric Chopin's Waltz in A-flat major in the CPR Performance Studio.
The Chinese pianist is spending part of her summer in Colorado as one of the first two Bravo! Vail Piano Fellows.
She and fellow pianist Nicolas Namoradze will receive two weeks of mentoring from pianist and festival Artistic Director Anne-Marie McDermott and perform several times during the festival. They’ll also learn from and visit with conductors and musicians visiting the festival and hone their ability to speak to an audience about music.
Fei-Fei Dong also performed with the Denver Philharmonic in May, playing George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” with the orchestra and recording her take on the Chopin piece during her visit.
