Steamboat Springs is hosting the first stage of the USA Pro Challenge bike race, which begins Monday.
The week-long bike race brings crowds of spectators and international TV coverage to town. That's a good thing, says Kara Stoller with the Steamboat Chamber.
"We couldn’t buy the marketing and publicity that we will get out of having Steamboat Springs be on TV in all those places for the amount of time that Steamboat will be showcased," Stoller said.
This year’s Pro Challenge route also goes to Aspen, Breckenridge, Loveland, Fort Collins and Golden. Riders will cross the finish line in Denver on Sunday.
