Aurora theater shooter James Holmes has been ordered to pay about $955,000 in restitution to the victims of his 2012 movie theater shooting — money that will never likely be paid by the imprisoned mass killer.

District Court Judge Carlos A. Samour made the order Friday. He presided over Holmes' months-long trial.
