Today we're reading NPR's piece on gun laws around the country. Here's how Colorado compares:
- Colorado is one of nine states that require universal background checks.
- The state is also one of a handful to expand the definition of "domestic violence" in order to prevent not allowing people convicted of domestic violence crimes to own a gun.
- But the state is far from the most restrictive when it comes to gun laws. California and Hawaii, for example, require a license or permit to own a gun.
