The Brooklyn band Caveman spent the past three years on the road, touring with acts like Weezer and Jeff Tweedy.
It should be no surprise, then, that the indie rock group's new single, "Never Going Back," has a certain world-weariness to it. The song -- which appears on the forthcoming album "Otero War -- starts with frontman Matthew Iwanusa singing about a "lonely room" accompanied by sparse piano chords and faint drums. It soon kicks into a driving rock anthem that calls to mind The War on Drugs, another of the band's recent tourmates.
Caveman performs at the Ogden Theatre with Frightened Rabbit on April 24.
