Violinist Yumi Hwang-Williams is concertmaster of the Colorado Symphony.

Colorado Symphony concertmaster Yumi Hwang-Williams is the featured soloist with the orchestra on Friday, May 13.

Hwang-Williams, who joined the symphony in 2000, will perform Violin Concerto No. 2 by Bela Bartok

“It’s really a mammoth concerto and it requires full facility and capacity on the violin," she says.

The violinist talked about the job of a concertmaster, changes at the Colorado Symphony during her tenure and how she balances life with a husband who's in the Philadelphia Orchestra. Hear her interview with CPR Classical's Jean Inaba at the audio link above.
