Colorado Springs PrideFest takes place this weekend in America the Beautiful Park.
This will be the 26th annual Colorado Springs PrideFest to celebrate the LGBT community.
Event organizer, Nic Grzecka, says there will be increased security in light of the June mass shooting at an Orlando gay night club.
"I think it's kind of, for our community as a whole, a wake up call that our community is still discriminated against and always has been," he says.
In past years, Grzecka says between 30-50,000 people have attended the event. He says hopes to see more this year.
Saturday will be family day with games for children. Sunday, there will be a Pride parade at 11am followed by musical performances by David Hernandez of American Idol and Thea Austin of Snap!
