Angel Olsen's "My Woman" was one of the most acclaimed indie rock albums of 2016. It was a big favorite among CPR's OpenAir listeners too: The record placed fifth overall in our Best Albums of 2016 listener poll.
The third LP from the singer-songwriter contains much of the fiery and heartfelt lyrics of her previous two albums. But Olsen sounds more bold and confident than ever on songs like "Give It Up," even when she sings lines like: "Whenever you're beside me / A part of me is dying." Songs about grief and heartache rarely sound this fun.
