On 2015's "Before The World Was Big," Girlpool's music shifted from the lo-fi folk-punk of its debut EP towards a charmingly sparse guitar and bass combination. The Los Angeles duo's music continues to evolve on sophomore album "Powerplant," with the addition of drums and heavier guitar riffs.
Cleo Tucker and Harmony Tividad's vocal blend is still the central driving force behind Girlpool. The louder instrumental arrangements on songs like "123" allow the duo to belt out their introspective lyrics with more force than ever.
