There are more than 16,900 known confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Colorado, according to the state Department of Public Health and Environment. This includes both people who tested positive for the virus and people who have been in contact with someone who tested positive and is exhibiting symptoms of the virus.

2,838 people have been hospitalized and 851 people have died so far due to the novel coronavirus in Colorado. There are 163 known outbreaks reported at residential and non-hospital healthcare facilities, prisons or other facilities. The data is complete through May 3.

In Southern and Southeastern Colorado counties, known cases of COVID-19 are as follows:

  • El Paso – 1,005 
  • Douglas – 531 
  • Pueblo – 158*
  • Chaffee – 67
  • Elbert – 32
  • Teller – 28 
  • Fremont – 22
  • Kit Carson – 21
  • Alamosa – 14 
  • Baca – 12
  • Otero – 10
  • Crowley – 4
  • Las Animas – 4*
  • Lincoln – 3
  • Costilla – 3
  • Custer – 2
  • Huerfano – 2
  • Prowers – 1
  • Kiowa – 0

*Pueblo County, along with the Las Animas-Huerfano Counties District Health Department, are reporting additional known cases of COVID-19 not yet reflected in data from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment due to a difference in reporting periods.

There are 16,635 known confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. This includes both people who tested positive for the virus and people who have been in contact with someone who tested positive and is exhibiting symptoms.

2,799 people have been hospitalized and 842 people have died thus far due to the novel coronavirus in Colorado. More than 81,352 people have been tested, though the number may not include all negative results.

Additionally, Colfax County in Northern New Mexico continues to hold steady, with five known cases of COVID-19. At least 215 people there have been tested.
