Pedestrian killed by light-rail train in Denver

Police have released few details of the crash.

A woman was killed by an RTD light-rail train on Christmas Day, according to the Denver Police Department. The woman was on foot and the collision was reported around 2 p.m. Saturday in Denver’s Overland neighborhood. 

The crash happened around the 200 block of West Iowa Avenue. The street runs through an underpass beneath RTD’s C and D lines in the warehouse and commercial area just east of Overland Golf Course.

Police were still investigating the crash and hadn’t disclosed other details as of about 3 p.m. Saturday. In a tweet, the department described the incident as a “crash involving a pedestrian and a light rail train.”
