- Leading health officials say that Santa Claus is immune to coronavirus. So when he stops by, your family's safe. And according to Denver photographer Ron Cooper, Santa actually needs helpers beyond his elves —other Kris Kringles who tend to things beyond the North Pole. Cooper's debut book is called "We Are Santa." It profiles 50 different St. Nicks from all over the country. And you might even find the real Santa among the pages...
- For folks thinking about moving to Denver, a new horror anthology has a message for them: “TURN BACK NOW!” That’s how the book opens. It then proceeds to warn all interested parties that Colorado is full of monsters in the mountains and haunted burial grounds.
- The Fort Collins theater group, LuneAseas has transformed a remote homestead into a haunted stroll through Colorado's unsolved mysteries. The show runs through Oct. 25.
- A new experimental dance show called “What Distracts You” was inspired by the overload of information that’s pestering us all. Gwendolyn Gussman heads the New York City and Denver-based dance company Holdtight.
- A new arts festival showcasing Colorado's diversity kicks off this weekend in Aurora. It features a virtual performance by Yo-Yo Ma and a lot of in-person stuff, too, including plays written by refugee youth and women. The organizer of The New American Arts Festival is actress, dancer and choreographer Deepali Lindblom.
- The director of the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center is performer and playwright Idris Goodwin. He says the pandemic has changed a lot of things but it won’t derail his plans for the center’s growth.
- "Sojourn of a Burning Sun" explores the heartbreak that followed Daniel Rodriguez's folk band Elephant Revival split up and his 14-year romantic relationship ended.
