Event Description

"Our December concert offers a thrilling opportunity to hear Handel’s Messiah (Christmas portion) as you’ve never heard it before! Performed by one-per-part instrumental and vocal soloists, Carrettin’s rendition offers delightful aplomb, virtuosic clarity, riveting tempos, and meaningful intimacy. BBF’s resident ensemble, COmpass REsonance (CORE) delivers a sparkling performance utilizing Baroque bows by the string players, chamber organ, and harpsichord. Vocal soloists hail from Boston and Colorado’s Front Range—soprano Mara Riley, mezzo-soprano Claire McCahan (World Bach Competition winner), tenor Daniel Hutchings, and baritone Adam Ewing. CORE opens the program with Corelli’s adored Concerto Noel, a masterpiece of the concerto grosso genre."
