Civil War Records: What Is a Reasonably Exhaustive Search?
by Craig Scott, CG, FUGA
7 p.m., via Zoom
In this engaging and information-rich presentation, acclaimed genealogist and military records expert Craig Scott will present a thorough exploration of Civil War records, emphasizing the importance of conducting a “reasonably exhaustive search.” Not just a primer on Civil War military records, the lecture is a strategic guide to uncovering valuable genealogical information hidden in overlooked or misunderstood sources. Whether you’re researching a Union or Confederate ancestor, this presentation offers transformative insights that can elevate your military genealogy research.
Craig Scott is the president and CEO of Heritage Books, a genealogical publishing firm with over 10,00 titles in print. A professional genealogical and historical researcher for more than thirty-five years, he specializes in military records, problem-solving, Quakers, and publishing. He has written seventeen books and several articles in the NGSQ, the Magazine of Virginia Genealogy, and other genealogical publications.
