Sphere Ensemble: Rhapsody in Blue

"Experience Gershwin's beloved Rhapsody in Blue in a new, custom version created by our own Executive Director and violist, Alexander Vittal. Rather than showcasing the original piano soloist, Sphere's arrangement will feature the solo and orchestral lines shared between our thirteen amazing string players in a dazzling reimagining of the original work. Following Sphere's tradition of highlighting important voices in pop music, we will also bring to life two completely different songs: Radiohead's inventive, 'How to Disappear Completely' with the vocal stylings of our own Artistic Director, Alejandro Gómez Guillén, and the raucous 'The Ghost of Stephen Foster' from Jimbo Mathus. Mozart's Adagio and Fugue in C Minor, a superb work written towards the end of his life, will be a chance for Sphere to display our expressive chops."
