TRAP at Otero College, La Junta

Event Description
Trap - Otero College
This Friday AND Saturday at 7 pm, and again on Sunday at 2 pm, you should RUN, not walk, to see “TRAP” (for free) at the Stafford Theater of Otero College in La Junta, Colorado - directed by theatre professor Heather Pidcock-Reed and starring the amazing Otero Players.
In particular, “TRAP” is perfect for lovers of the eerie and of crime dramas. If you remember and enjoyed “The X-Files” you will want to see this sci fi play all three days. But not to worry - there are also plenty of hilarious lines to lighten the mood.
Every review should contain some criticism, and as a scientist I will apply this to nitpicking some lines - spiders aren’t insects, moths can’t actually see the color red, and humans emerged from the savannah, not the jungle. With that out of the way, though…
The staging includes brilliant use of lighting - or perhaps one should say brilliant use of darkness. The cast are a powerhouse and the story is excellent. The show features references to ghosts and even aspiration as a cause of death. “She was acting” might be the most important takeaway line.
See “TRAP” and you’ll understand why. You won't regret it.
