Remembering Climber Bean Bowers

Listen Now

Climber Bean Bowers of Ridgway was a guy you remembered — he could be gruff and usually didn’t mince words. Bowers was known for finding new routes up tall peaks in the harsh Patagonia region of South America. He could keep calm in sketchy situations. And though he had several close calls in the mountains, it was cancer that ended his life. Friends and family recently held a memorial service in Ridgway. Ryan Warner talks with Bowers’ close friend Alan Oram.
