Did you ever dissect a frog in high school science? It turns out those “hands-on” labs might not have been the most thought-provoking way to teach science. To get kids really engaged in science, STEM proponents – that stands for science, technology, engineering and math - say it will take more than memorizing frog parts and following lab instructions. Instead, they emphasize putting kids in charge of their own discovering, and getting them to explain the world around them through science. CPR’s education reporter Jenny Brundin explored this topic in two stories last week and now goes a little deeper STEM education with host Ryan Warner.
