Buyers in Colorado snapped up new Nissan Leafs at the end of 2015 for about a third of the sticker price, thanks to existing tax credits and a special group discount arranged by Boulder, Denver and Adams counties.

The counties promoted the deal in an effort to get more electric vehicles on the road. Boulder is running a similar program now through the end of June.

Colorado Matters' host Nathan Heffel spoke with Will Toor of Southwest Energy Efficiency Project, and Evan Freirich, a Boulder county resident who bought a Nissan Leaf under the program.
