In Denver, police have put up 80 surveillance cameras around town and this summer they’re putting up about 30 more. These cameras are powerful enough to zoom in and see even small objects from a block and a half away. The idea behind them is to deter crime or, when a crime occurs, find the culprit. Other big cities are trying out them out--like Baltimore and Chicago--but, as we'll hear, some officers aren’t convinced these cameras are the best approach. For more on the additions in Denver, Ryan Warner speaks with Lt. Ernie Martinez of the Denver P-D.
