If you’re like a lot of people, you stick it in the basement.

The Colorado Association for Recycling estimates there are more than a million gallons of leftover paint sitting in sticky cans across the state.

A new bill in the state legislature would create a recycling program for paint.

Sponsors say it could save the state $9 and a half million dollars annually on the collection and management of leftover paint.
