Leontyne Ashmore, of Boulder-based Lisbeth Joe, wears one of her shoe designs on Monday, August 22, 2022, in Denver.

A health condition meant Boulder entrepreneur Leontyne Ashmore needed low-profile shoes. "But I couldn't find any cute barefoot shoes, or professional-looking barefoot shoes to wear to work," she says. So she started her own minimalist brand, Lisbeth Joe. On a stroll with Senior Host Ryan Warner during Black Business Month, Ashmore explains how she has overcome hurdles, including the pandemic and a factory fire.
