The 2015 Special Olympics World Games medals are unveiled to mark 100 days away to the 2015 Special Olympics World Games at the LA84 Foundation in Los Angeles Thursday, April 16, 2015. The World Games gold, silver and bronze medals and distinction ribbons feature the 19 colors of the World Games logo. With 7,000 athletes and 3,000 coaches representing 177 countries, along with 30,000 volunteers and an anticipated 500,000 spectators, the 2015 Special Olympics World Games, being staged in Los Angeles from July 25 to August 2, 2015, will be the single biggest event in Los Angeles since the 1984 Olympic Games.

Special Olympics Colorado serves 20,000 athletes in its sports programs but it also provides leadership and health activities and works with hundreds of schools to increase inclusivity. Chandra Thomas Whitfield speaks with the organization’s CEO, Megan Scremin.
