"The most remarkable virtuoso in the relatively unchronicled history of his instrument." That's how The New Yorker once described bassist and composer Edgar Meyer.
Meyer, who won a MacArthur "Genius" Award in 2002, is back in Colorado this week for the 43rd annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival. He's played the festival since 1983 and will close out this summer's four-day event with mandolin player Sam Bush, banjoist Béla Fleck, fiddler Stuart Duncan, dobro player Jerry Douglas and guitarist Bryan Sutton as the Telluride House Band.
He spoke with Colorado Matters host Ryan Warner.
