Colorado Bar Association Trains Lawyers to Assist Military Reservists

When servicemen and women return from Iraq and other battlegrounds, they often face a number of challenges. For example, marital problems. In the years following 9/11, Army divorce rates doubled, although they’ve dropped some since then. Employment can also be an issue. According to the U.S. Department of Defense, 14 percent of reservists have trouble getting their jobs back. The military provides some legal support, but there can be gaps. So the Colorado Bar Association is training lawyers to assist clients who are also soldiers. Denver attorney Chris Colclasure is part of that effort. He talks to Ryan Warner.
