Denver’s Cole College Prep to Close

There was a lot of fanfare when an educational group called KIPP decided it would take on the worst-performing school in the state. KIPP, which stands for the Knowledge is Power Program, reached an agreement with Denver Public Schools in 2004 to run Cole Middle School. Now, KIPP is backing out, and Cole is closing. So what happened? For some answers, Ryan Warner talks to KIPP spokesman Steve Mancini, and Van Schoales, a program officer with the Piton Foundation, who has been watching Cole's progress.
