Yule log hunt endures in Palmer Lake

· Dec. 13, 2010, 5:30 pm

This Sunday (12/12), residents of the small town of Palmer Lake north of Colorado Springs will continue a more than 70 year-old holiday tradition: searching for a yule log hidden in the woods. Dozens of people take part in this annual event. It's a European tradition that started in this Colorado town after a resident learned about something similar in Lake Placid, New York.  Colorado Public Radio's Anna Panoka caught up with the Watkins family, who's been involved in Palmer Lake's yule log hunt for more than four decades.
