Colorado Springs Mayoral Candidates Talk to KRCC

On May 17th, Colorado Springs voters will elect a mayor in the city's new strong-mayor style of government. There are two candidates vying for the city's top spot, Richard Skorman and Steve Bach. KRCC's Andrea Chalfin spoke to both candidates. We're airing edited versions, but here you can find the full interviews as well.

The longer, more complete versions include much more elaboration, as well as questions that simply didn't make it to air. Those topics include primary functions of city government, SDS, and pet projects.

The official election date is May 17, and eligible voters should have already received their ballots. The deadline has passed to register to vote, but if you have not received a ballot and are eligible, you can pick one up at the city clerk’s office downtown. For more information, you can visit the Colorado Springs' elections page.

According to the Colorado Springs Business Journal, there will also be an invite-only mayoral forum for young professionals on May 9th. It will also be streamed online.
