Colo. sees another drop in unemployment
New job numbers indicate Colorado added more than eight thousand jobs during October and November.
Education, health services, and manufacturing were among the Colorado sectors gaining jobs last month. Colorado moves into 2014 having recovered all the jobs lost to the recession.
The state Labor Department's Chief Economist, Alexandra Hall, says one concern in the new year is that deflation could start a cycle of falling demand, productivity and employment.
"If it comes about and we experience deflation, that will affect Colorado," Hall said. "And if it does not come about, that will be good news for the state’s economy."
She calls deflation the biggest question mark for 2014, but says she thinks the probability of that happening is low.
