Sondre Lerche, ‘Bad Law’

This week’s download of the week comes from Norwegian songwriter Sondre Lerche. "Bad Law" is an ode to divorce, looking at the darkness that rises when love and law collide.

In 2013 Lerche was composing music for his wife’s directorial film debut; conversely, he spent this year writing about the loss of his marriage. The bouncing reverie in "Bad Law" rides on the pain of divorce which he calls “a simple song” that he hopes will make people happy and dance, as well as relieve anger.
