The Ski Train’s a sell out

Amtrak and Winter Park announced yesterday they were breathing some temporary life back into the Ski Train from Union Station. The one-time only running of the historic route was being promoted as a way to mark Winter Park's 75th anniversary.

It was also a way for Amtrak to get a sense for whether there might be enough demand to restart the line on a more permanent basis. And the AP is reporting today that the 400 $75 tickets for the March 14 excursion sold out within 12 hours. Now Amtrak says it's going to take a hard look at the numbers and logistics before committing to the service.
