Apartment rents in Denver grew at 5th fastest rate in the country, according to the market research firm Reis.

Rents jumped 7 percent in the third quarter of this year compared to last year. Only San Francisco, San Jose and Seattle saw significantly higher rent increases.

For renters, there are reasons for optimism: The metro area is still a bargain compared to cities like Boston or San Francisco, where rents are more than double. Also, there are more available apartments in Denver. The metro area ranks near the middle nationwide in terms of its vacancy rate.
