Denver Invites Other Governments To Talk Pot

Denver is presenting the first known marijuana seminar put on by a government agency.

The city is expecting 200 to 300 people from 10 other states and Washington, D.C., to attend its Marijuana Management Symposium starting Thursday.

City officials will talk about the nitty-gritty details of regulating a legal pot industry, from enforcing fire codes to monitoring for pesticide violations.

Denver's head of marijuana policy tells The Denver Post that city officials will not advocate for legalizing marijuana. Instead they plan to share regulatory lessons learned.
