Denver Hotels Break Records In 2015, Fueled By Economy And Pot

Denver hotels have never been as full as they were last year. More than seven out of every 10 rooms were filled. That allowed hotels to charge customers record high room rates, about $121 a night, according to analysts at Smith Travel Research.

Hotels admit marijuana legalization has helped, but it’s not the only explanation. Hotels across the country broke records. Experts point to very low unemployment and sustained economic growth as the primary drivers.
