Colorado Ranked Fifth For Energy Efficient Buildings

Colorado is near the top of the list of states for energy efficient building, according to the latest ranking from the U.S. Green Building Council.

The state is fifth on the 2015 list for buildings that use less energy and water, and reduce carbon emissions. The rankings are based on states’ per-capita square footage of green building.

Last year, 95 green projects in Colorado amounted to more than 12 million square feet. They include Denver’s Republic Plaza, a fire station in Boulder and the Pueblo County Judicial Center. The states that scored higher than Colorado are Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts and Washington.
