Colorado Hiking Trails, Tourist Spots Now On Google Maps

Google has released more than 30 virtual off-street tours of Colorado hiking trials and tourist attractions online, allowing viewers to catch a glimpse of the sites without breaking a sweat.

The Denver Post reports that the Garden of the Gods, the Red Rocks Amphitheatre, the Denver Zoo and other popular sites are now available through Google Maps.

Starting last summer, Google's office in Boulder enlisted the help of employees from Estes Park and Denver visitor bureaus for the project. The team visited the sites and hiked trails across Colorado, capturing images with a 360-degree camera.

The project is part of Google's Trekker Loan Program, which launched in 2012.
